MS Fatigue and SSDI: How to Prove Invisible Symptoms
Reviewed by Gretchen Johnson, J.D., LL.M.
"But you look fine." Heard that before? Social Security might think it too, unless you show them otherwise.
Why is fatigue so hard to prove?
It doesn't show on a scan. So it needs to show up in your records, again and again.
How do I prove it?
- Ask your neurologist to note fatigue at every visit
- Use a fatigue scale, like the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale
- Log when you rested and what you skipped
- Ask family to write down what they notice
And brain fog?
Memory and focus testing can turn "I forget things" into hard evidence.
