Applying for SSDI with Anxiety: Documents and Evidence to Keep
Reviewed by Gretchen Johnson, J.D., LL.M.
Anxiety doesn't show up on an X-ray. So your paperwork has to do the talking.
Which records matter?
- A diagnosis from a psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist
- Notes on how often panic attacks happen
- Medicines and side effects
- ER visits for panic attacks
What else can I add?
- A simple symptom log
- Your doctor's view on stress and attendance
- Letters from family about what you avoid
How detailed should my log be?
Two lines a day is plenty. Doing it every day matters more than writing a lot.
